WHERE WE HAVE BEEN. The colored lines on this map represent where we have tagteam cycled since 1 Aug 2015. BLUE lines = 2015, YELLOW lines = 2016, RED lines = 2017. We will continue to update this map as we complete additional route segments (we are not done yet!).

Day 204: Caballo Lake State Park, NM

It was a nice enough day today.  Alea had a 44 mile ride, mostly on roads with low traffic roads volumes that wound through desert, cotton fields and pecan orchards.  The roads trended upward, but with very mild gradients and fair winds.  We stopped for the night at Caballo Lake, which was created by a dam on the Rio Grande.  We are about 20 miles south of Truth or Consequences, NM.

We are camped in Appaloosa Campground in Lake Caballo State Park ($14, power, water, pushbutton showers and a nice covered picnic shelter).  This campground gives us a chance to top off our camper battery and water tank before heading into the mountains, and it sets us up for several possibilities of where to camp near the big pass that is coming up tomorrow.

I took the time today to create a generalized map of where we have tag-teamed in the past fourteen and a half months.  It was something we have wanted to do for a long time, as it means people no longer have to look at several maps to see where we have been (once I put my mind to it, I figured it out quickly enough).  You can access it via the Where We Have Been link, which is listed at right under the About Us heading.  We will update it again after we finish cycling this year.  Until then, you can monitor our progress in the map in the header of our blog.
